On June 9th, the Staines 10K Volunteer Committee were delighted and surprised to be awarded the Mayor of Spelthorne's Cup.

Presented at the 2026 Runnymede and Spelthorne Volunteer Awards, the team were recognised for delivering this event every year, from start to finish, coordinating 60 volunteers on the day and raising £100k+ for local charities and causes over the years.

The team were also finalists in the competitive category of Volunteer Team of the Year. Congratulations to all finalists and winners doing amazing things in a variety of sectors.

The Story of Staines 10K

For the past 30 years, on a Sunday in May, the people of Staines and the surrounding area have come together for a ten kilometre road race.

Some do it to challenge themselves, some do it to raise vital funds for their chosen charity. Whatever the reason, a great atmosphere is produced by the runners and spectators alike.

The perfect recipe - run a race - generate funds. We are proud that just in the past 12 years we have raised over £90,000 for local causes. Visit the Charity page to see where the money goes.

The course is flat, making it ideal for the experienced club runner to post that magical personal best. The event is also perfect for the beginner or improver.

800 entries for 2026 went on sale at midnight on 1st February and were all sold within 21 hours. You need to be quick to get a place in Staines 10K! Follow us on social media for details of the 2027 race date and when entries open.
